PRESENT SIMPLE#

Present simple is used to describe:

  • true information
  • factual information
  • unchangeable (static) information

(!) When the noun is in plural form, the verb is unchanged. In negative form, plural takes “do not” before the verb.(!) When the noun is in singular form, -s/-es is added to the verb. In negative form, singular takes “does not” before the verb.
e.g. Alcohols react with sodium metal to give sodium alkoxides and hydrogen gas.
e.g. They do not require high technology.
e.g. The ethene comes from crude oil, which is a non-renewable resource.
e.g. This process does not use much energy.
